Honey Garlic Chicken

Kali Wood
This Honey Garlic Chicken recipe is composed of sticky, tender chicken thighs doused in a honey, garlic, and soy based sauce that's seriously addictive. It's easy to make and only takes a handful of ingredients making it the perfect weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs chicken thighs (fat trimmed and chopped into 1-inch cubes)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil
  • cup honey
  • ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (I prefer jarred, if you use fresh, use about 3 cloves)
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • sesame seeds (garnish)

Instructions

  • Take chicken thighs, trim excess fat, and cut the chicken into 1-inch cubes.
  • Heat olive oil in a medium pan at medium-high heat.
  • Toss chicken with cornstarch and place into the pan once the oil is hot, stirring and flipping the chicken occasionally. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked all the way through.
  • In a medium bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, rice vinegar, and garlic.
  • Pour the sauce into the skillet and allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Drop the heat to low and allow the chicken and sauce to simmer until thick and sticky.
  • Remove from the heat, salt and pepper to taste, garnish with sesame seeds and serve.
